Blizzard may be in the process of doing something significant with their "Diablo" franchise.

Recently, a job opening was spotted on Blizzard's careers website indicating that the company needed an art director to work on their "Diablo" franchise. The listing went on to indicate that Blizzard is looking for a candidate who has at least 10 years of experience in a related position. Blizzard also wants their ideal candidate to possess a "deep understanding" of the "Diablo" franchise. Blizzard is also looking for someone who already has experience shipping AAA products as an art director, although that part does not appear to be a deal-breaker should an applicant not possess it.

Based on the ad, it looks as though Blizzard is looking for someone with pretty solid artistic skills as well as someone who can lead a team, but that part should be expected of an art director. The most interesting part of the ad is something that has nothing to do with the requirements or the responsibilities of the candidate at all.

According to the ad, the art director they are looking to hire will be working on an "unannounced project."

Polygon has already contacted Blizzard in the hopes of finding out what that "unannounced project" actually is, but the company chose not to provide any additional details. The company only said that they working different projects, but stopped short of saying what those actually are.

It's easy to imagine that the ad could be referring to a new "Diablo" game, although it could very well be for an expansion for "Diablo 3" as well.

According to Gamespot, if Blizzard does have big news regarding a new "Diablo" game, the company is most likely to reveal that at Blizzcon in November.

"Diablo" fans will now just have to wait and see if there is a big announcement looming sometime soon.
