Before they left the United States to embark on a new overseas ministry, the Dillard family got busy tying up loose ends, making preparations, and spending as much time as they could with family members.

Derick wrote on the Dillard Family Blog that he, his wife Jill Duggar, and their infant son Israel David had been travelling quite a bit lately. They had also been busy packing and repacking their stuff for the big move. They took Israel David to his grandparents and great grandparent from Jill's side of the family. They later went to Oklahoma City so the baby could spend some quality time with Derick's own grandparents.

"We've purposed to spend as much time with friends and family as we can in the final days and weeks before departing for the field," shared Derick. "In addition to traveling and spending time with family, we've been tirelessly working our way through a growing checklist of tasks."

Not only did the Dillard couple handle their passports and travel documents, but they also dealt with insurance plans, prepared for language school, bought clothes for Israel David (who is growing so quickly), made several doctor's appointments, sent out family prayer cards, and also held an orientation session with their mission organisation.

"Since that time we have been very busy finishing up some last-minute things here and enjoying the good 'ol US of A," said Derick. "Our top priority as a family before we depart the country is to spend time daily in the Word of God and to be praying for both our preparation and for our time on the field."

They still have not revealed where they are going to start their new ministry for security purposes as they continue to seek prayers and financial aid from concerned individuals who would like to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others.
