After the critical acclaim of Last Days in the Desert in the Sundance Festival, another Bible based blockbuster is in the works, this time focusing on the popular tale of David and Goliath.

But unlike its controversial predecessors Tim Chey's $50 million budget movie will be biblically correct and will definitely honour the Lord.

"Well first off, I'm not only a director, but also an evangelist. So obviously I'm not going to make a film that's biblically not correct or does not give honor to the Lord," Chey said in an interview with Christian Post.

Chey said that he used to be an atheist before he found God in a Gideon's Bible while staying in a hotel room in Manila. Since then, he has devoted his life to crafting films that made an impact on faith.

He said that the road has not always been smooth as he was faced with adversities in his career and even reached a point where his disappointment and discouragement in making Christian movies almost made him give up.  But as his faith was tested, his resolve returned.

"The Lord showed me clearly it was a spiritual attack. I repented and began to trust the Lord again. Within two months, we raised millions of dollars and made the $20 million dollar "Carry Me Home" (starring Cuba Gooding, Jr) on the early life of John Newton, writer of "Amazing Grace" and now "David and Goliath," he explained.

Chey shared that he had been working on the concept of David and Goliath for 11 years because he wanted to make it a major movie that drew the audience's attention to the terror brought by Goliath to King Saul's army and the impossible task that David had to perform when pitted against the 9-foot giant.

"I want them to be moved to tears and increase their faith in the true and living God. I want them to stop being lukewarm. To make a stand for God. To slay the demonic giants who beseech us in this life. I want them to leave the theater and say 'I will make a stand for the Lord' and tell those giants 'You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God,'" he added.

The movie will be released on April 2015 and will star British actor Miles Sloman as the young King David and Jerry Sokolsky as the gigantic warrior Goliath.
