"Dishonored 2" is now available, and it has taken the world by storm. However, PC players are complaining about performance issues with and its game director, Harvey Smith of Arkane Studios, is not happy with the way things are going.

Smith has personally answered every question posted on his Twitter account since the game was released last Friday. Dozens of PC players were not able to play the game at 4K resolution. The most it can do is 1440p even on an Intel Core i7-6700K and GTX 1080 OC gaming PC, and this has greatly disappointed Smith.

He said in a post, "I'm happy people are raving about the game. The majority are loving it. But I'm distressed that some PC users have problems." He mentioned on another post that the PC version is not ported from the console version.

WCCFTech reported that the problem could be caused by the Void game engine that was used in the game. The Void was derived from idTech 5, which is known to be problematic, and this is why "Doom" used the idTech 6 version. Smith mentioned that "Dishonored 2" was a combination of both, but 90 percent of the code was rewritten for the new game.

Bethesda, the game developer, immediately acknowledged the issue and stated that they are already working on a patch that will be made available soon.

The company said: "We have been monitoring the PC forums and social channels and while we're excited to hear that many of you are enjoying the game, we are disheartened that some of you are experiencing PC performance issues on some systems."

It also added: "We are actively working to provide an update to address your concerns. The patch and its release notes will be available in the coming days."

PC players having issues are encouraged to report the problems via Bethesda's website, and they are also advised to check the Steam Community Guides for other game related information.

"Dishonored 2" is now available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
