Bethesda Softworks has officially announced that there will be an upcoming sequel to its 2012 steampunk title "Dishonored." 

Teasing the audience with a trailer release at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, "Dishonored 2" apparently takes place 15 years into the future of the events in the original title. Based on the trailer, gamers can now control two characters, switching back and forth between Corvo Attano, the main protagonist in the first "Dishonored" game, and Emily Kaldwin, who in the first game is the princess that Corvo has sworn to protect. The second installment will also move from the walls of Dunwall to the coastal city of Karnaca while Corvo and Kaldwin try to take back the Empire from another other-worldly usurper. 

Each character will have their own set of skills, presumably provided by the Outsider, a mysterious being who also helped Corvo in the first title. 

"Dishonored 2" is being developed by Arkane Studios, the company behind the original "Dishonored" released in 2012. 

Aside from the second installment in the "Dishonored" series, Bethesda has also announced that it will be coming out with "Dishonored Definitive Edition." According to a tweet on the official Bethesda account, the compendium will arrive for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in August. The bundle will include an enhanced version of "Dishonored" along with the DLC expansion packs, namely "Dunwall City Trials," "The Knife of Dunwall," "Void Walker's Arsenal," and "The Brigmore Witches." 

Aside from the confirmation announcement, no other details were offered by Bethesda on when the upcoming title will be released. With the publisher concentrating on other projects such as a new "Fallout" title targeted for a 2015 release, fans of "Dishonored" can expect the sequel to come out next year.
