With the launch date getting close, Bethesda reveals more details about the upcoming "Dishonored 2" game. A new video diary highlights how the mission in the franchise sequel is more open-ended than the original "Dishonored."

Showcasing the development walkthrough, creative director Harvey Smith says that one of the interesting takes on the new game is how "Dishonored 2" involves players every step of the way. Even at the start of the game, players need to decide at once. Smith elaborates: "At the beginning of the game you're faced with the choice [of picking] between Corvo and Emily. And then you're faced with the choice of which pathway to take through this crazy non-linear space." The opening itself is one of the new features of the game, with both Emily Kaldwin and Corvo Attano being co-protagonists.

The creative team executive adds that, aside from story decisions, "Dishonored 2" also involves players more creatively in the gameplay and design. This makes the sequel as unforgettable as the first one. Although the new game has a distinct "Dishonored" feel, new player decisions such as choosing between stealth and a straight shoot-out, gives "Dishonored 2" a unique look, even if Smith says, "We wanted to do classic Dishonored missions where it's a highly defended location, it has its own character, it has its own nature, and you're going after a high-value target."

Meanwhile, the new video also relates how "Dishonored 2" has combined the classic mission style in the first game together with "epic theming." Lead level designer Christophe Carrier gave an example in "Crack in the Slab," one of the missions in the sequel. The mission involves players going fluidly back and forth in time in the mansion featured in the first "Dishonored" game. In addition, another breakthrough for the creative team is the design for one mission, "Clockwork Mansion," where players can control — literally, through gears and levers — and "basically reconfigure the house like a Rubik's cube."

"Dishonored 2" will be released on Nov. 11 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Meanwhile, pre-orders of the game gives a one-day early access pass.
