Last weekend, developer Arkane Studios and publisher Bethesda Softworks offered a free trial of "Dishonored 2" its players.

Starting April 6 until the weekend, players were able to play the first three missions of "Dishonored 2" for free. This covered all three gaming platforms — PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.

From there, players can also decide whether they want to purchase the full game or not. To those who were enticed and bought the title, they were able to keep all the contents that they have saved and continue "Dishonored 2" from where they left off in the trial mode.

The free trial seems to be successful, Eurogamer gave the game "rare golden Essential badge."

Also, in a review by player and Eurogamer contributor Edwin Evans-Thirlwell, he said, "I went into the game expecting a universe of glorious ugliness, deliciously underhand abilities, maps that are lousy with infiltration vectors, and a multitude of ways to survive any scenario. I found all of that and more, but I wasn't expecting to care quite so much about the people I met along the way."

Microsoft seems to be keeping up with the momentum of the title, as it has recently launched the Xbox Store Spring Sale, where players can purchase different games, including "Dishonored 2," at discounted prices.

The action-adventure stealth video game used to be priced at $59.99. With the said sale, subscribers to Xbox Games with Gold can purchase "Dishonored 2" at $30, while those who do not have the subscription may get it at $35.99. The sale started this week and will end on April 17.

Similarly, discounts for "Dishonored 2" are offered on Steam. Originally priced at $60, interested players may get the title at $24.79 until April 18. As for the PlayStation 4 console, the title is still priced at $59.99 and is not on sale as of the writing.
