After losing "Insurgent" and "Allegiant" director Robert Schwentke early this year, the main cast of "The Divergent Series" movies Shailene Woodley and Theo James might also step down from their roles in the film for the final "Divergent: Ascendant" film.

Rumors about the rift between the two actors were being talked about online. The reports claim that James and fiancée Ruth Kearney are planning a big wedding, and Kearney will not like it if James will spend most of his time on the set of the film. According to the rumors, this reason reportedly upsets Woodley, and it caused a disagreement with the co-stars.

While the camps of both actors have yet to clarify the reports, Woodley expressed her lack of interest in returning to the set of the final installment of the "The Divergent Series" after the film is being redeveloped to become a TV series.

"From what I know, they want to proceed with a television show, which is not something that I signed up to do," the actress told E! News while promoting her other project titled Snowden back in September. "Out of respect to the whole scenario, there could be things that have changed, but I didn't sign up to do a TV show, she went on to say."

Speculations about the redevelopment of the final "The Divergent: Series" movie to become a spinoff TV series was first reported by Variety back in July. According to the report, "The Divergent Series: Ascendant" was supposed to open in theaters in 2017, but it may no longer push through because the film studio is opting to bring the film to the small screen.

The report also mentioned that Woodley, James, and other lead stars of the film franchise based on Veronica Roth's best-selling book saga have yet to sign a deal with Lionsgate Films if it will be transferred on TV.
