A new trailer for Marvel's "Doctor Strange" was released during this year's San Diego Comic Con, and while speaking to Collider, lead star Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Doctor Strange, revealed that there may be a few aspects regarding the character and the film's story that may surprise the audience.

"It's non-stop punishment for this dude," he explained. "What he has to become and how quickly he's tested in the new arena that he becomes this person is so violent, so sudden, so non-stop, and psychologically brutal as well as physically very very brutal. It's a huge character arc. So I think that might surprise people."

Cumberbatch continued to explain that throughout the film the character is incredibly stubborn despite all the difficulties that he comes across. This includes his struggles to become a world-renowned doctor to the point of his accident which forces him to travel and meet the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) in order to gain newer means to help people.

Cinema Blend states that this drive many similarities to the first "Iron Man" movie given that Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) was also an arrogant and successful man who had to go through extreme difficulties before he could become Iron Man.

According to the report from Collider, Cumberbatch was not quite familiar with the character back when he was working on "Star Trek Into Darkness" but it was mentioned back in the day that he would be a great casting choice, which did come true.

The latest trailer for the film also gives a much better insight on the film's overall plot and flow of events as it showcases Strange as a doctor, the accident that destroyed his hands and the moment that he meets the Ancient One to study magic. It also gives audiences a better look at the many side characters and Mads Mikkelsen's villain.

"Doctor Strange" opens in theaters on Nov. 4.
