"Doctor Strange" has already premiered in several regions such as Hong Kong, but it has yet to launch in theaters in the U.S. and the UK. Just a few days short of the film's Western release, Marvel Studios released a new promotional clip that gives viewers their first glimpse of the villain Dormammu.

The new promo clip, called "The Multiverse" trailer, focuses primarily on the main setting of the film as well as further indicating how Doctor Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) interacts with the world of magic. However, for a very fleeting second, viewers can also get a short glimpse of Dormammu.

Dormammu can be seen at the 40-second mark of the trailer, and his appearance only lasts for a second. The image of Dormammu is also very vague as it only showcases his eyes and a veiled version of his face. In the original comic books, Dormammu was portrayed as a tall demonic being with a flaming head and black armor.

It is widely speculated that this is due to Dormammu, in the film's continuity, resides in the Dark Dimension, and in this reality, he has no physical shape or form. When fans do get to see him interact with the characters, he is likely to take on an appearance similar to their own, going so far as to create a mirror image of those he is communicating with.

Given that Dormammu is not the main villain of the film, it is possible he is only going to be given a very short amount of screen time. Should Marvel move forward with a sequel in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it is possible that Dormammu will have a bigger role, either as a main villain or alongside Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor).

"Doctor Strange" is set to premiere in theaters on Nov. 4.
