Details about the soon-to-be-released 10th season of "Doctor Who" are constantly making the rounds on various news websites.

Reports claim that since filming for "Doctor Who" season 10 will not begin soon, actor Peter Capaldi will bring his iconic role to the set of the upcoming series from BBC Three titled "Class."

However, during an interview with Digital Spy, Capaldi shed light on the rumored appearance of the Time Lord in the official "Doctor Who" spin-off series for younger viewers. He said that while it would be interesting to have a cameo performance on the upcoming show, he has yet to receive an official offer from the network.

"I'm sure that might be fun, yes, but nobody's asked me yet! To be honest, I haven't seen any of the scripts, but yes, obviously as a spin-off it'd be nice if the Doctor did show up from time to time," Capaldi stated.

The upcoming spin-off, written by popular young adult novel author Patrick Ness, will center on the activities happening at Coal Hill School. It is one of the most iconic places for the entire "Doctor Who" series since this was the first place where the Time Lord emerged back in 1963.

Meanwhile, series creator Steven Moffat previously revealed that things will be different for the Time Lord when the new season comes out, especially since Doctor Who will longer face all his upcoming journeys with Clara Oswald after Jenna Coleman departed the show.

"I'm beginning to have an idea of the kind of person, specific ideas but not a specific actress. A new companion gives us the chance to launch the show again," Moffat previously told Radio Times.

At the moment, there is no word yet regarding the official release date of "Doctor Who" season 10, but it is not expected to premiere in 2016.
