There's no stopping the Doctor and his adventures. Ever since "Doctor Who" got a reboot in 2005, the show just kept on going with one epic season after another. But this time around, the new Doctor Peter Capaldi has taken over the coveted role for season 8 and will reprise his role in season 9. 

Season 9 is rumored to debut in autumn of 2015, but as of the moment, there are only a few reveals about what's to come in the upcoming season. 

For one, Den of Geek confirms that Paul Kaye will be a guest star in a two-part episode in the ninth season. He will play Prentis and he is more than happy to join the show. In fact, Kaye shared that being in "Doctor Who" is a dream come true. 

"As a kid of the 1970s, the two shows you always watched were "Top of the Pops" and "Doctor Who", they were unmissable. I actually wrote a song called 'Looking for Davros' in my first punk band and I sang it like a demented Dalek ... Peter is a perfect Doctor and I'm loving every minute of the experience, even the five hours in make-up. What a treat, best 50th birthday present ever!" Kaye enthusiastically shared. 

Meanwhile, there is one confirmed episode for season 9 already and it is titled "The Magician's Apprentice." There's still no synopsis for it.  Also, according to DoG, there is two-part episode written by Toby Whitehouse. Showrunner Steve Moffat reportedly described it as "one of our scariest adventures yet."

As or the talented writers that have made the show a huge success — the usual scribes are going to pen an episode or two. Apart from Whitehouse, Moffat will also lend his pen for season 9 and Catherine Tregenna will write an episode. 

Mark Gatiss, meanwhile, confirmed last year that he was writing two episodes for "Doctor Who." He later revealed on Twitter that those episodes wouldn't necessarily be in season 8. One of the episodes was "Robot of Sherwood" and the next will most likely be shown in season 9. 

However, one usual writer who confirmed that he won't write for season 9 is Neil Gaiman.

Talking to Radio Times, he said, "I'm not writing for series nine right now, just because of ridiculous work commitments I'm trying to get out from under." Gaiman is, however, "determined to write for Peter Capaldi. As long as Peter is Doctor Who, I will write for him." 

Regarding director rumors, Daniel O'Hara is said to be helming two episodes, while Peter Jackson is also rumored to be directing one episode.
