Every year, the last day of July serves as the trade deadline in Major League Baseball. This year, since the said date falls on a Sunday, the non-waiver deadline has been pushed back to the 1^st of August. With barely a couple of weeks to go, the rumors surrounding last-minute talks and tradeoffs are skyrocketing.

One of the biggest speculations surrounding the Los Angeles Dodgers is regarding their talks with Tampa Bay Rays. Dodgers' president Andrew Friedman was also the general manager for the Tampa Bay team for close to a decade. Naturally, he seems to be interested in getting the best talent on the Rays' side over to his court now.

MLB columnist Jon Paul Morosi writes that the Dodgers' may possibly be interested in the three-time All-Star on the Rays team, Evan Longoria. However, on some levels, it seems like the Dodgers may not go through with the Longoria trade. If the star player, who is currently on the Rays team as a third baseman, joins the Dodgers, the LA team may have to move their third baseman Justin Turner to the second base.

Turner is a favorite in the Dodgers club, and it is unlikely that the team will be willing to move its own third baseman in order to accommodate Longoria. The other possible subject of the Dodgers-Rays trade talks is Logan Forsythe, who, in spite of being capable of playing both the outfield and the infield, has been largely undervalued thus far.

Another report on Foxsports suggests that the Dodgers are open to trading away their outfield batsman, Yasiel Puig. This seems like a questionable move, considering the fact that the LA team needs help in the outfield. Puig has performed pretty strongly so far. So, it remains to be seen if the team will keep the talent it presently has, or trade it away in exchange for better performers.
