Donald Trump approval ratings latest news: President's approval rating drops by 3%, latest poll shows

President Donald Trump's approval rating has yet again dropped, this time by three percent.

According to a recent poll released by the Quinnipiac University on Wednesday, Trump's approval rating dipped by three percent from last month's 40 percent -- by far his highest in the past seven months.

In the poll, it details that 4 out of 10 Americans (40%) say that they are in line with Trump's policies, in contrast, however, only 3 out of 10 Americans (30%) say that they like Trump as an individual.

The Quinnipiac poll also indicates that majority of the people who voted in favor of Trump's administration were either white men or republicans.

When asked if Trump is fit to occupy the seat of president, 65 percent of women and 49 percent of men indicated that he is not. In addition, 71 percent of women expressed that the current President is not doing a good job of handling predicaments that involve women. Meanwhile, 59 percent of men shared the same sentiments.

According to The Independent, the large percentage of women who are against Trump as president can be traced to how the former's administration handled Rob Porter's, known as an aid of the current government, domestic abuse allegations from his divorced wives -- where he was granted an interim security clearance despite the allegations.

After the allegations, on Feb. 7, Porter issued his resignation and denied the domestic abuse accusations saying it was "outrageous" and "false."

He insisted that he has been transparent and truthful regarding the claims, telling the press that this was an elaborate campaign to smear his name.

"I have been transparent and truthful about these vile claims, but I will not further engage publicly with a coordinated smear campaign," Porter said.

Similarly, President Donald Trump has also been the subject of sexual harassment by various women. However, he has remained firm, telling the press that he did not commit any of the claims directed toward him.
