President of the United States Donald Trump blasted Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch for the latter's stunt during Sunday's football game in Mexico. Lynch took a seat during the American national anthem and then stood up for Mexico's anthem. Trump described Lynch's action as a "great disrespect."

On Nov. 19, the Raiders lost to the New England Patriots 33 to 8. The match took place at the Estadio Azteca arena in Mexico.

Trump called out the NFL through Twitter to suspend Lynch for what he did. POTUS tweeted, "Marshawn Lynch of the NFL's Oakland Raiders stands for the Mexican Anthem and sits down to boos for our National Anthem. Great disrespect! Next time NFL should suspend him for remainder of season. Attendance and ratings way down."

Lynch is one of the most controversial players in the league for refusing to talk to the press and from time to time conducting crazy antics. The Beast Mode player has not commented on Trump's tweet.

Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf came to the player's defense and retaliated with a tweet. Schaff wrote, "#Oakland loves our own @MoneyLynch (Marshawn Lynch). Let's suspend @realDonaldTrump (Donald Trump) instead."

This is the first time Trump directed his comments against Lynch. The President had a long-running disagreement with several NFL players and other athletes in different sports. Many athletes have been in protest against Trump and they show it by kneeling, raising their fists, and locking arms when "The Star-Spangled Banner" plays.

In the NBA, ballers have refused invitation to visit the White House as a sign of protest. Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry was also called out by the President. Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Lebron James also mentioned during a press conference that he is not friends with the POTUS.

Just recently, Trump directed his attention toward another controversial icon in the world of sports, LaVar Ball. Through a tweet, Trump indicated that he contributed to the release of LaVar's son LiAngelo after a shoplifting case in China. However, LaVar mentioned that Trump had nothing to do with the release of his son. Trump then took matters to Twitter by saying, "Now that the three basketball players are out of China and saved from years in jail, LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo, is unaccepting of what I did for his son and that shoplifting is no big deal. I should have left them in jail."
