"Doom" is the upcoming multiplayer game from publisher Bethesda Softworks, and there is a closed beta test that will start by the end of the month.

Officially, the closed beta test will start Thursday, March 31, at 10 p.m EST and will run until Sunday, April 3, at 11:59 p.m. EST. The beta test is open to all who pre-ordered a digital copy of "Wolfenstein: The New Order" prior to May 26, 2014, as well as to those who purchased a retail copy of the same title and have used their "Doom" beta codes. Players on Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms can participate in the forthcoming event.

Also, eligible players will be receiving an email from Bethesda before the closed beta test begins. This email will include the key code for players to be able to log in.

Beta test campaigns are very restrictive when it comes to uploading gameplays during this kind of stage; however, with "Doom," it will be "no holds barred." There will be two maps available for the event, Heatwave and Infernal, and there will also be two game modes, Team Deathmatch and Warpath. Participants for the closed beta can upload videos of their gameplay matches on any forum and streaming website.

A similar announcement was also posted by Anne Lewis, the Associate Content Manager of Bethesda, on the PlayStation Blog. The post added that there will be new weapons, armors and hack modules available to the participants.

The team behind "Doom" also tweeted its fans regarding the upcoming closed beta test event.

"Doom" developer id Software partnered with Certain Affinity for the multiplayer section of the upcoming game. Certain Affinity has been assisting other game studios in developing the multiplayer segments of their games. Some of their well-known works are "Halo 4," "Call of Duty: Ghosts," and "Halo: The Master Chief Collection."

"Doom" is scheduled to be released on May 13 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
