Live action movies are not exactly famous for their very nature of trying to recreate animation. While some are undeniably great, here is to hoping that the "Dora the Explorer" live action movie will be one of those great adaptations. Recent news on the movie suggests that the production has been going quite well and that it is even going to get an official release date already set.

According to the THR, the live action movie is set for release specifically on Aug. 2, 2019. The script was written by writer-director Nick Stoller, whom some people may have known from "Muppets" as he too was the writer for it. Michael Bay, whom people did not think would be the type of guy to be behind these kinds of movies, will be taking a producer role with his Platinum Dunes company.

For the people behind the movie to boldly set out a date already may mean that they already have the necessary pieces. It is either that or they really are just aiming high. Nevertheless, there has been no news yet as to who will play the vital role of being Dora.

For those who may not have known or had been too young to have watched the original series, the live action movie is based on the popular Nickelodeon television series of the same name. It would be hard for anyone to have missed it since it ran for around a total of 14 years and had aired 172 episodes.

With a lot of episodes and different kinds of adventures that Dora has already gone through, it would be interesting to see what kind of plot this movie would have. Unfortunately, it is hard to speculate on it with not much being given. The last time anyone has made a live-action adaptation was a satire made by CollegeHumor.
