Christmas is right around the corner, which means that the very last episode of "Downton Abbey" will soon air on British television sets.

The two-hour Christmas special will feature events that happened during New Year's Eve in 1926. Some of the cast offered some information on what fans can expect on the last episode of "Downton Abbey."

In an interview, actor Jim Carter advised fans to prepare a box of tissue before watching the Christmas special.

"Not only are we saying goodbye to each other as actors, we're saying goodbye to the characters. I think the audience — well, have a box of Kleenex handy is all I can say. It's going to be a tearjerker," the 67-year-old actor told Good Morning Britain.

Michelle Dockery also spoke of the difficulty of saying goodbye to her character during an interview with Standard UK. Reading the final script for her character Lady Mary made her cry, the actress said.

Despite the end of the series, Dockery said the connections she made with her castmates will last.

"We've made friends for life, you know Laura [Carmichael] and I are not worried about not seeing each other because we live very close by one another, we see each other all the time," the actress explained.

Meanwhile, Carmichael teased that the final episode will focus on her character Lady Edith.

"The last moment of Downton is a close-up on me, at 6am, trying to remember all the lines. It was a lot of pressure trying to keep it together but when they shouted wrap and we all had champagne, it was magical!" Carmichael told Telegraph when asked about her final episode in the series.

The finale will also feature Lily James (Lady Rose), Matt Barber (Atticus Aldridge), and Patricia Hodge (Bertie Pelham's mother).

The "Downton Abbey" series finale airs Dec. 25 on ITV.
