'Dragon Ball Super' episode 33 spoilers: Goku battles Botamo in 1st match

The much-awaited tournament officially begins in "Dragon Ball Super" episode 33. The first one on the platform is none other than Goku himself, thus inspiring the episode's title "Be Surprised, Universe 6! This is Super Saiyan - Son Goku!"

The Saiyan was matched up against Botamo, the yellow-skinned tank top-donning fighter from Champa's team. The largely built brawler is considered one of the most powerful fighters in Universe 6, making him a good match to Goku.

A promo for "Dragon Ball Super" episode 33 hints that Botamo isn't taking Goku seriously. He is even seen sporting a grin. He could actually be bringing food to the battleground as if he is not going to battle.

As seen in the "Dragon Ball Super" trailer, his attempts to beat Goku in the bout include using his slick and bouncy body to crush his opponent flat. Goku's speed and agility, however, should make it difficult for Botamo to go on the offense during the match.

However, the Universe 6's greatest weapon in his battle with Goku is his body, which is basically immune to damage from most physical attacks. This should allow him to last longer in the fight and watch his foe exhaust himself trying to hurt him.

Goku, on the other hand, will give his opponent a fight for sure. He has been preparing for this for a while now. He even chose to train over shaving and showering as seen in "Dragon Ball Super" episode 32. All thanks to Bulma, he implored him to clean up first, which he did.

Interestingly, in the "Dragon Ball Super" episode 33 teaser, Goku is seen performing some squats during the match, which startles Botamo. At some point in the teaser, Goku is seen in his Super Saiyan form.

[Spoiler Alert! The following contains spoilers from the manga]

Goku wins by being able to kick Botamo out of the ring, but only after various attempts. He then goes on to battle another Universe 6 contender – Frost aka Frieza lookalike.
