'Dragon Age: Inquisition' free trial for PC version launched

Bioware

Those who are hardcore fans of "Dragon Age" but have yet to get the "Inquisition" title can sample the game for free in the latest PC offering from its developer.

Game industry bigwig Electronic Arts and developer BioWare have announced the release of the free trial version of "Dragon Age: Inquisition" for PC. Accessible through Electronic Arts' Origin service, the free version will give players a preview of the massive online fantasy role-playing game. In the trial version, gamers can spend a full six hours in the single player campaign of the game. Although this may sound short for most hardcore players, those who want to get their feet wet first on the BioWare RPG can get fairly far into the game without paying for anything, using the free trial version.

There is also good news for online match and play fanatics, as the free trial version doesn't stop with the single player campaign. The Origin exclusive download can also get players unlimited access to the multiplayer feature of "Dragon Age: Inquisition." This free trial version is also made compatible with the full one, and players can download the free multiplayer packs and duke it out with gamers who own the full game.

However, the free trial version is available for a limited time only, although BioWare and EA haven't set a definite date yet on when the offer will end. In addition, the "free" tag only extends to the base game itself, and like the full game, players would need to purchase in-game items and do microtransactions in order to progress further than most and fully enjoy the game.

"Dragon Age: Inquisition" was released in November of last year and is currently available on both older- and current-gen Sony and Microsoft consoles, in addition to the full-game PC version.
