'Dragon Ball FighterZ' news: Story and tournament mode details; fans will love plot

The video game by Bandai Namco titled "Dragon Ball FighterZ" has been anxiously awaited by fighting game aficionados and fans of the widely popular Japanese anime. Given that the developers have already given some lucky participants a taste of the game through beta testing, more information regarding the game – specifically, regarding the story mode and the tournament mode of the upcoming game have been released.

In a report by PlayStation Life, pictures of characters Nappa and Ginyu, who are part of the "Dragon Ball Z" saga, have been released. Fans of the previous generation of the series will easily recognize these two villains from the Vegeta arc and the Frieza arc respectively. Furthermore, the images released by Bandai Namco were more importantly used to give fans a hint of what to expect from the story and tournament mode of the game.

Unlike most of the previous "Dragon Ball" games, the story that the game will be featuring has been given more thought by its developers in order to please fans. According to Comic Book, the story mode will be "in-depth," which means that there will be three different scenarios that players will immerse themselves in. The main scenario will allow players to join the exploits of the main protagonist Goku and his comrades.

Possibly, players will be following Goku into the classic battles that the series has shown in the past so that they will be able to experience the iconic story for themselves. There will also be a scenario wherein players will be able to control the villain Frieza, but this part is focused on delivering more humor to the story. Finally, the third scenario will have players delve into the mysterious past of Android 18.

It is possible that through the Android 18 scenario that players will finally be able to get to know more about the never seen before Android 21. In fact, Gamespot has reported that the creator of the series, Akira Toriyama, created Android 21 special for "Dragon Ball FighterZ." Android 21 is a character who has about the same level of innovativeness and intelligence as Dr. Gero, the man responsible for creating the Androids in the Cell Saga.

"Dragon Ball FighterZ" is scheduled to be released on Jan. 26, 2018.
