Game publisher Bandai Namco recently announced that there will be a pre-release tournament of the upcoming 2.5D fighting game "Dragon Ball FighterZ." Apart from that, a new trailer will be released during the Jump Festa 2017.

The game, which is based on the well-known Japanese anime "Dragon Ball," will be released next year. For now, only few details of the game were revealed. However, fans are expecting to learn more about it during the Jump Festa on Dec. 16 and 17.

Although the company did not reveal about what will be included in the trailer, there is a possibility that it will show a number of new characters. There are already familiar faces from the anime that are part of the game, but there could be more additions to its current roster. New modes might also be featured in the upcoming "Dragon Ball" video game.

Apart from the Jump Fest 2017, there are also other events that would give fans a glimpse of the game. This includes the Game Awards 2017 and the PlayStation Experience that will take place this weekend. Bandai Namco also has an upcoming big event mid-month. This means that gamers will get the biggest revelations for "Dragon Ball FighterZ" this month.

The plot of the game involves Android 16, a large mechanical android created by Dr. Gero, along with Android 17 and 18. Goku and his friends need to fight the revived android as well as an army of super androids. It is more challenging to face these super androids since they are designed to resemble the Universe 7 warriors. Their fighting technique is even a little similar to that of Goku and his friends. The story of the game has three chapters, the Super Warriors Arc, the Super Villain Arc, and the Android Arc. Each chapter follows the story of different characters.

According to PlayStation Lifestyle website, the game has a big focus on mobility. Hitting the right trigger will help a player avoid Ki attacks. Apart from that, players can also do a warp attack called Vanish. This allows them to teleport behind their opponent and land an attack. However, players need to use the Vanish attack in moderation since it costs a gauge of energy.

"Dragon Ball FighterZ" will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Jan. 26, 2018 internationally and Feb. 1, 2018 in Japan.
