Bandai Namco and developer Ganbarion have released a brand new trailer for "Dragon Ball Fusions," the RPG game that will launch for the Nintendo 3DS. The trailer not only reveals when the game is rolling out in the U.S., but it also gives a closer look at its many gameplay mechanics and characters.

The trailer notably has a Japanese voice over, but it does have English text and subtitles. Throughout the trailer, it is shown that fusions, an aspect that is popular in the "Dragon Ball Z" and "Dragon Ball Super" series, will be a key part of the game as players can fuse with a wide variety of other characters.

It is also revealed that the player can freely create their own character, and this character can be an Earthling, a Saiyan, an Offworlder, an Alien, or a Namek. It is also possible to make a male or female character, except for the Namek race, given that they are androgynous and that they reproduce by laying eggs.

The existence of a player's rival is also revealed, and this rival may be a constant challenge that the player would face throughout the game's story.

Combat is shown briefly in the trailer, and it is hinted that it will use a traditional leveling up system for character progression and turn-based battles mixed with real-time action mechanics. Players will also be able to explore numerous time periods and storylines from the series, and they will have to recruit famous characters such as young Goku, Krillin, and Vegeta.

The trailer also reveals that enemies will be using their own unique fusions and multiple forms. There is a portion of the trailer where Broly is shown transforming into his Great Ape form, and enemies like Freeza are seen fusing with others. There is also a clip where multiple heroes join together to form a Super Saiyan God, also known as Super Saiyan Blue.

"Dragon Ball Fusions" is scheduled to be released for the Nintendo 3DS on Dec. 13 in North America.
