Bandai Namco has released a brand-new trailer for "Dragon Ball Fusions," the upcoming turn-based RPG game which will be released for the Nintendo 3DS. The trailer focuses on showcasing many of the game's main features such as traversing through the world map and how the titular fusions work.

The trailer introduces the two new main characters named Tekka and Pinich. They are then transported to a hub world where all the "Dragon Ball" universes and timelines merge, similar to the hub network that was seen in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse."

However, where "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" focused on a custom character tasked with protecting the "Dragon Ball" timeline and events, "Dragon Ball Fusion" focuses on a more linear story and quests while allowing the player to experiment with an infinite amount of fusion possibilities.

Some examples are shown in the trailer, such as a fusion between young Goku and Krillin, Goku and Broly, and Picollo and Krillin. These fusions are made possible with the use of the Metamo-Ring, which may be similar to the Potara fusion earrings shown in the anime and manga.

According to Cinema Blend, the game will allow players to recruit and perform fusions with characters from across the "Dragon Ball" series, including characters from the early "Dragon Ball" series, the more popular "Dragon Ball Z" series and its official sequel the "Dragon Ball Super" series. "Dragon Ball GT" characters are also revealed to be in the game.

This would allow a large number of possible fusions such as merging Super Saiyan 4 Goku from "Dragon Ball GT" with Majin Vegeta from "Dragon Ball Z" or young Goku from the original series with an adult Gohan or Future Trunks. These types of combinations have not been explored in the anime or manga.

"Dragon Ball Fusions" is scheduled to launch in Japan on Aug. 4 but there is no official U.S. release date at the time being.
