Fans from around the world are awaiting the premiere of the highly anticipated "Dragon Ball Super." In less than a month, the new series will hit TV screens in Japan.

Details of the show seem to pop up every now and then and the latest news should get fans all the more excited.

Last week, Dragon Ball Super's official website released some promo art showing some of the fresh faces set to appear in the series.

One of the new characters that Dragon Ball fans should expect from the show is Shanpa, as reported in the Anime News Network.

Not much is known about Shanpa's character, except that Shanpa (pictured below) is a large, purple cat--somewhat a plumper version of the villain, Beerus, the God of Destruction introduced in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and will appear in the upcoming film Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'.

It also seems that some of the details of the story have also been given away. Now it is known that Dragon Ball Super takes place in an era following the defeat of Majin Buu.

A synopsis from Shueisha's V Jump magazine provides a hint of how the first episode will start.

"After defeating Majin Buu, life is peaceful once again. Ordered by Chi-chi to earn money, Goku works even as he wants to train even more," the synopsis reads.

Furthermore, the story will contain plot elements that connect with Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F', as reported by the Anime News Network.

The premiere date for Dragon Ball Super in Japan is July 5, and in the meantime, fans should check out the teaser trailer, which has reportedly gained 800,000 views just a few days after its launch.

The clip with an English subtitle uploaded by Saiyan Island is just 15-seconds, but it really doesn't matter for fans who have waited 18 years for a new Dragon Ball TV series.

The show will be aired via Fuji TV and an English-dubbed version is yet to be confirmed.
