'Dragon Ball Super' spoilers: Upcoming episodes revealed

Toei Animation

After about 20 years, the hugely-popular "Dragon Ball" anime finally gets a revival through a new series, "Dragon Ball Super."

The series starts off six months after Goku's and Vegeta's big fight with Majin Buu. After Buu was defeated, Shenron was used to wipe the memories of the people on Earth so as not recall those events. Episode 1 of the new series featured Goku trying to fit into what for him is an inactive life – trying to get a job and earning money. His youngest son, Goten, helps prepare a strip of land for farming. However, Goku gets antsy and ends up training instead. With an unexpected bonus from Mr. Satan, Goku comes up with about a hundred million zeni, so he then proceeds to train in King Kai's realm.

Bringing nostalgia to both hardcore "Dragon Ball" lovers and those new to the series, many fans have been staking out forums and other online threads for any new information or leaks regarding the new series. In the latest round of online speculations, a fan uploaded a "Dragon Ball Super" guide magazine from Japan, translating episodes up to the fifth one.

As the episode was already shown last weekend, the second episode for the series will see Vegeta taking time off together with his family. Meanwhile, episode 3 titled "Look for the Saiyan God" might focus on Goku's discovery of a whole new level of power. Episode 4, on the other hand, might be a filler episode since it would most likely focus on Pilaf and his minions.

According to speculations, fans might see Goku going toe-to-toe in a big fight by episode 5. The title of the fifth episode, "Goku vs God of Destruction Beerus," seems to be a telling one. This might mean that Goku will face off for the first time with the God Beerus, which was already introduced briefly in episode 1 and whom Goku fought against in a "Dragon Ball" movie, "Battle of the Gods."
