New characters are confirmed for the upcoming "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" sequel, with some of the characters confirming an overlapping story with the ongoing "Dragon Ball Super" adaptation.

Publisher Bandai Namco has released new screenshots as well as a new trailer for the new game. The new details hints on the upcoming "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" background, such as continuing the story of Time Patrollers getting back in time and try to thwart the enemies from altering the original "Dragon Ball" timeline. Some of the confirmed characters include Cooler, Bardock, and Turtles.

Meanwhile, some of the images also feature Future Trunks, and it may hint a tie-in at the on-going story for the anime adaptation "Dragon Ball Super." In the anime, Future Trunks has already appeared in the current timeline, in order to recruit Goku and Vegeta in trying to defeat Goku Black. Goku Black is a powerful foe with Goku's likeness, and the story hints on the new enemy going back and manipulating time through the use of a Time ring.

Prior to the release of the game, confirmed details have already been set for "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2." One noted change is the improvements for the character creation. The new title will also feature a new city hub called Canton City, and will be seven times more massive than the original city in the first "Xenoverse" game. In addition, up to 300 players per server can also be up at the same time. It is also confirmed that like the first title, the sequel will also have post-launch content and DLC packs extending to the end of 2017.

"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" will launch on Oct. 25 in North America, and in Europe on Oct. 28. The sequel will be available for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
