'Dragon Ball Xenoverse' set for 2015 launch with return of Goku, Kid Gohan -other game characters still to be announced

'Dragon Ball Xenoverse', also known as 'Dragon Ball XV', to be released in 2015

An extended trailer for "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" was unveiled last Sept. 24, almost a week after its promotional video was released at the Tokyo Game Show.

Similar to the first trailer that was presented at the said event, the latest "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" or "Dragon Ball XV" trailer has drawn attention to the time travel components of the upcoming game's story mode. The new footage shows a few minutes of actual gameplay.

Looking into the recently unveiled trailer, "Dragon Ball XV" will require players to create their own heroes and be tasked with protecting the game's existing timeline. They are to begin their adventure in Toki Toki City, and carry on their fights from there.  Users will then be able to join teams or battle it out alone with many of the characters that have already appeared in the 'Dragon Ball' animated series.

Interestingly, the upcoming fighting game, which is drawn out from the 'Dragon Ball' media franchise, will also enable players to go into 3-on-3 matches and let their creations fight each other if they do not prefer to follow the "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" story.  The trailer also highlights the "cooperative adventures" that players are permitted to accomplish as teams, although there have been no other details about this component.

According to a message posted by Bandai Namco on Twitter, more characters in the game's roster will be announced in the following months before the game's release, although many of the famous characters are already set to appear in the upcoming "Dragon Ball Xenoverse." These include Goku, Kid Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, Raditz, Nappa, and Vegeta.

Developed by Dimps and published by Bandai Namco, the upcoming video game will be made available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. However, there has been no official announcement on the specific date for its release in 2015.
