Fans have been hyped up by a leaked image showing a sequel to the hit massive online multiplayer title "Dragon Ball XenoVerse." However, publisher Bandai Namco quickly dismissed the image showing "Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2" as a fake, and fans went back to speculating what the publisher has in store for future updates.

It seems that in this year's Tokyo Game Show, the fans' clamor for new details and updates would be answered.

According to Gospel Herald, Bandai Namco is expected to make a "Dragon Ball XenoVerse" appearance, if not a dedicated presentation, at this year's TGS convention, to be held from Sept. 17 to 20. Although details are scarce, as the publisher is remaining silent on what games it will present during the event, observers are saying that at the very least, they will be giving an update on upcoming characters, items, and new features for the game, as well as new information regarding further world tournament events.

Bandai Namco rolled out the first-ever "Dragon Ball XenoVerse" online tournament last month, with players from Europe, the United States and Japan competing against each other via multi-platform fights. Players were free to use their own originally created characters, and entrance to the finals were deduced not by winning fights but through a points system. The final leg of the event started Sept. 12 and will end Sept. 26.

Meanwhile, other observers suggest that Bandai Namco may be gearing up for some major DLC announcements for "Dragon Ball XenoVerse." It has been some time since a major DLC was released for the game, with the last expansion celebrating the rollout of the most recent movie in the franchise, "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'." The movie DLC came with four new playable characters from the film, a host of new missions and quests, additional Z Souls for the players, and other new items.
