'Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Botuden' updates: characters revealed; Goku and Vegeta get new, more powerful forms

Here's how Goku would look like in his SSGSS formToei Animation

"Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden," a highly-anticipated Nintendo 3DS-exclusive, gets a trailer showing off explosive, super-charged skirmishes among the characters gracing the battlefield. The trailer hints that Goku is still the one to fear and, by and large, it will be very enjoyable to see and battle with all 24 fighters in the roster, which Shonen V-Jump Magazine (acquired by Shonen Gamez) recently revealed. A scanned page from the issue enumerates the characters, complete with descriptions of their strengths and abilities.

The lineup includes Cell, Frieza and Kid Buu, who Goku trounces single-handedly as seen in the trailer. A heated battle between Android 18 and Trunks is also shown. It is in this footage that Vegeta and Goku's Super Saiyan God SS forms (the latest and most powerful and one that gives them blue hair) are seen in action. Speaking of which, players have a way to acquire these forms.

Downloading and playing the "Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden" demo and transferring the progress to the game's full version will unlock the SSGSS form of Goku. Vegeta, Teen Gohan, and Buu are also available in this demo and it is, like the actual game, only available in Japan. It is still unknown if Bandai Namco Games will ever allow the title to cross borders but gamers across the globe would undoubtedly like to get their hands on the title.

However, if their previous release is to go by, then the game won't be going anywhere else. Bandai Namco's latest offering from the array titled "Dragon Ball Kai: Ultimate Butoden" was only made available in its home fort.

"Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Botuden" will be out in Japan on June 11. A release of the 3DS-exclusive in North America or any other region outside Japan is still hoped for.
