As Bandai Namco Games prepped up for the release of "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" (which successfully transpired yesterday), the game studio revealed another treat for its ever adamant fans. This time though, the good news is for players rocking the handheld Nintendo 3DS system. Bandai Namco Games is working on "Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden." 

The news came from Japanese magazine Shueisha V Jump, which also reported that a mega list of more than 100 characters will be brawling and bodyslamming in various layouts and arenas. Each of them will get a unique stage where they can summon their "Ultimate Art" special finishing attack. There will also be one-on-one and team-style battles in "Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden." 

Gamers can create teams with any one of the characters in "Dragon Ball Z" so the unlikeliest squadron can be produced, notwithstanding rivalries, intents and whatnot. Also, with the introduction of "Z Assist" support, even characters who eschew combat — the likes of Bulma, Chichi, Dende, Dr. Brief and even self-professed strongest warrior Mr. Satan — can join the fun by assisting the main warrior in battle. Bulma is likely to help out with Capsules while Chichi will put her incredible anger to greater use by letting it all out on the opponent. 

The first ever game in the popular series titled "Dragon Ball Z: Super Butoden" was released back in 1993 and it allowed players to duel in "Street Fighter" style. Then emerged "Super Butoden 3" and "Shin Butoden." "Dragon Ball Kai: Ultimate Butoden," which came out in 2011, is the latest in the series. 

"Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden" should be out in Japan by summer. Bandai Namco Games has yet to reveal whether the game will be brought to North America. The latest "Butoden" game as mentioned above was only made available in Japan. But with the company bringing "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" overseas, many hope that it will do the same with its upcoming 3DS-exclusive title.
