"Dragon's Dogma" online capabilities to shut down for Xbox 360 consoles by the end of March.Capcom

Not long after the server shutdown of the PlayStation 3 title "Demon's Souls," another popular action, fantasy title is set to be stripped of its network support -- the Xbox 360 franchise game "Dragon's Dogma."

Players who are still occasionally plunging into the world of action, adventure game "Dragon's Dogma" and its 2013 sequel "Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen" will no longer be able to access the network servers for both titles by the end of March, Capcom details in an advance notice.

Once shut down, users will no longer be able to use online features such as Pawn rental and Ur-Dragon. However, other game features will still be playable offline except for the ones mentioned earlier.

Meanwhile, online features for "Dragon's Dogma" on the PlayStation 3 platform and "Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen" on the PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One will be unaffected and will still retain their network functionalities.

According to Capcom, the shutdown will commence at the end of the month on March 31 at the following times 9:00 a.m. GMT, 5:00 p.m. JST, 1:00 a.m. PST, and 4 a.m. EST.

"Dragon's Dogma" first debuted on the Xbox 360 in 2012. A year later, an enhanced and expanded version of the game, "Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen," landed on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2013. Three years after. it became available to play on the PC platform, and last year it dropped for the PlayStation 4 console.

The game was directed by Hideaki Itsuno under the tutelage of Capcom, better known for his incredible roster of works including "The Resident Evil" series, "Devil May Cry" titles, and "Breath of Fire." Both games were met with acclaim due largely to their huge open-world setting, comprehensive gameplay, and in-depth storyline.

In other news, Capcom is not ruling out the possibility of a sequel to "Dragon's Dogma" but, despite this, no official announcement or confirmation has been released.
