With the abuse of power currently being investigated in Hollywood, it is hard to tell just by looking as to which actor or actress has been victimized by sexual assault. In a recent interview, American actress Drew Barrymore has expressed her admiration for the women who have come forward to share their unfortunate experiences in the entertainment business.

In a report by People, Barrymore stated that the recent events should enlighten more women to "take care of themselves" as well as make more efforts to look out for each other. Barrymore's statements were made at the Glamour Women of the Year awards ceremony on Monday, Nov. 13. When Barrymore was asked if she herself was victimized by other powerful men in Hollywood, she simply described herself as "scrappy."

It appears that Barrymore never allowed herself to be in a position to be abused sexually. Currently, she believes that women should be able to support and encourage each other to be strong, so that they can win in the fight against sexual harassment in the entertainment industry. According to Pop Culture, Barrymore stated that for every "brave" woman that exists, there is more than enough to protect one that is not.

In addition to Barrymore, one of these women is Gal Gadot. The Israeli actress publicly stated that she will refuse to be a part of "Wonder Woman 2" if Brett Ratner will continue to be part of the film's funding. Ratner is part of the growing list of men in Hollywood who have been accused of abusing their power.

Despite being in the business of making films since she was a child, it may be hard for others to imagine just how Barrymore was never taken advantage of in any way. Putting the sexual harassment issues aside, Barrymore is focused on raising her two daughters. Us Weekly reported that the actress is teaching her two daughters how to become more empowered in this day and age. Her eldest daughter, Frankie, is now five years of age, while Olivia is only three.
