'DriveClub': Free download adds new exotic supercar

How will the game be saved?Facebook

Evolution Studios will launch another exciting free content update for "Driveclub" this week, after players received five Japanese tracks last week.

In its official Facebook page, the game developer uploaded a new teaser video that shows an actual test drive of the Italian supercar Icona Vulcano that can be downloaded by all players without having to pay a single cent through the PlayStation store.

The trailer, posted by Evolution studios last Friday, was captioned:

"We're test driving the upcoming Icona Vulcano, which will be added to PlayStation®Store next week as a free ‪#‎DRIVECLUB download. We love how it sounds - what do you think?"

It means that the new downloadable content will come out sometime soon.

This free update comes immediately after the "Apex Car Pack" was released several days ago. This car pack — with five new vehicles, namely the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Centennial Edition, the Enzo Ferrari, the Caterham R500 Superlight, the McLaren 650S Coupe, as well as Jaguar C-X75 Prototype Edition — is included in the Season Pass. It also contains 11 new events as well as five additional trophies. The new maps set in Japan are also included in last week's update.

Evolution explained the exclusion of the Japanese tracks on Facebook, saying:

"Along with our own research and gameplay data analysis, your input has been a big help in shaping all of the tracks we're developing for Japan. Especially the many, many requests for an epic point-to-point like this and for wider tracks to make fighting for position less frustrating, particularly in online races."

The "Apex Expansion Pack"  and Icona Vulcano have been released.

The latest set of free updates could be Evolution Studio's way of compensating for the lackluster release of "Driveclub" late last year.
