After two years of updates and downloadable content (DLCs), the highly popular racing simulation video game "DriveClub" has now received its final update this week.

The PlayStation 4 exclusive video game has been out for more than two years now and its developers have apparently been developing the free update to give players one final sendoff before completely halting their support for the game.

The brand new update was just released this week and it is one of the biggest updates that has ever been released for the game. The update —which is a whopping 5.75 GB in size — contains a myriad of brand new content for the game including 15 new tracks that is included the game's spinoff virtual reality title, "DriveClub VR."

The VR version of the game was developed by Sony's WWS Immersive Technology Group and was released as a launch title for the company's new PlayStation VR headset. Along with the 15 tracks, the update also contains some reversed variants of several tracks that are already found in the game.

A goodbye message was also included in the update's patch notes, which had thanked all of the players and supporters of the title. The message reads, "Thanks for your support. Thanks for your commitment. Farewell."

While the note itself clearly indicates that the update was going to be the last one for the game, there are still some fans who are hoping that the developers will come up with a patch that would allow the game to take advantage of Sony's new PlayStation 4 Pro platform.

As of the moment, there isn't any announcements yet if Evolution Studios would be releasing a PlayStation 4 Pro patch.

"DriveClub" was first announced during a PlayStation 4 conference back in 2013. After several delays, the game was finally launched in October 2014 as an exclusive title for the PlayStation 4 console.
