'DriveClub' update: new leaked video shows MotorStorm Buggy inclusion

It looks like "DriveClub" is cooking up a storm. A leaked footage showed that "MotorStorm" dune buggies will be included in the PlayStation 4-exclusive racing video game, something that virtual drivers ought to be excited about.

Based on the footage, the Wombat — the rugged four-wheel drive vehicles from the PS3 game "MotorStorm" — will be cruising along the Canada track of "DriveClub." The leaked video that was posted online by AllGamesBeta somehow supported the listing for the alleged "DriveClub – MotorStorm Buggy (Wombat Typhoon)" DLC that was downloadable at the Hong Kong PlayStation Store last week, before the company decided to remove it online. The deleted posting claimed:

"Jump behind the wheel of a true MotorStorm legend - the Wombat Typhoon.

A real fan favourite from the smash racing series, the beloved "MotorStorm Buggy" is now ready to roll into the next-gen action on DRIVECLUB tracks across the globe."

Bringing a "MotorStorm" vehicle to "DriveClub" is not a surprising move since the latter's developer Evolution Studios and game publisher Sony Computer Entertainment were also responsible for coming up with the "MotorStorm" game for the PlayStation 3 console back in 2006. However, the online servers for the game were permanently shut down back in January 2012. The last installment for the "MotorStorm" franchise was the "MotorStorm: RC" for PS Vita, but it never got a favorable sales number. Because of this, the franchise was discontinued completely.

If the leaked footage turns out to be authentic, then the vehicle from "MotorStorm" will be included in the soon-to-be released "Lunatics Expansion Pack" for the racing game.

The game developer has already unveiled several updates and DLCs for "DriveClub" since it was released back in October 2014. Early this year, they introduced a new set of tracks set in Japan, including the one showing the topography in Nakasendo as well as Lake Shoji.

Both Sony and Evolution Studios have yet to comment on the validity of the leaked footage.
