Motorola has just made official its new addition to the Droid flagship lineup. First released as an exclusive to Verizon, the Droid Turbo 2 will also have an international version, to roll out as the Moto X Force.

How is this new iteration different from the previous version and other Moto flagships in general?

Display

One of the most noted features of the Droid Turbo 2 is its display. Of course, when compared to other, more premium flagships, the Droid Turbo 2's 5.43-inch, 2560 x 1440 resolution display seems paler. However, when lined up with other midrange and above-average lineups, the Turbo 2's screen colors are vibrant enough.

Meanwhile, the most noted spec for the display is that it features what Motorola calls "shatterproof" technology. According to industry insider GottaBeMobile, the shatterproof display incorporates a plastic screen and a dual touch layer, making the screen almost impervious to heavy damage when the phone is accidentally dropped.

Under the hood

In terms of its specs sheet, the Droid Turbo 2 is one of the Snapdragon 810 flagships available in the market. Aside from the SD chipset, it is also paired with 3 GB of RAM. There are 32- and 64-GB storage options, and both of these can be expanded to up to 128 GB via the microSD slot located in the same tray as the SIM card.

Meanwhile, aside from front facing speakers, adequate 12-MP/5-MP main and selfie cameras, the Droid Turbo 2 also features another feature Motorola is known for – above-average power. The Turbo 2 houses a 3,760 mAh battery that is known to provide at least 48 hours' worth of standby time. The flagship also features fast charging options, able to get up to 13 hours of battery life with just 15 minutes of charging using the 25-W charger. In addition, the flagship also features wireless charging options.

The Droid Turbo 2 is available for $624 (32GB) and $720 (64GB) to Verizon subscribers.
