Comedy Central is sticking with "Drunk History."

The comedy series has been officially renewed for a sixth season, according to reports. News of the renewal was announced by Comedy Central last week, confirming the new installment will have 16 episodes. This means season 6 will be longer compared with the currently airing season 5, which only has 13 episodes in total — the show's largest order yet.

"They say history is written by the victors, but after five seasons, it's now clear that it is best told by drunken comedians," network president Kent Alterman quipped.

After its Jan. 23 debut, season 5 quickly rose to the top and ranked as the No. 1 rated original series in the 10 p.m. timeslot among male viewers aged 18-34. The show is also known for attracting famous celebrities as guest stars, with season 5's lineup including Jack Black, Kat Dennings, Kirsten Dunst, Tony Hale, David Harbour, Brian Tyree Henry, Vanessa Hudgens, Johnny Knoxville, Jane Krakowski, Abbi Jacobson, Tatiana Maslany, Joel McHale, Mandy Moore, Bob Odenkirk, Jesse Plemons, Seth Rogen, Amber Tamblyn, Allison Tolman and Weird Al Yankovic.

Narrators who joined the show and got tipsy before sharing interesting history stories included Questlove, Rachel Bloom, Tiffany Haddish, Kyle Mooney, Randall Park and Mae Whitman.

The Emmy-nominated series is executive produced by series creators Derek Waters and Jeremy Konner, alongside Adam McKay, Will Ferrell and Owen Burke from Gary Sanchez Productions.

"Drunk History" is just part of the long list of Comedy Central programs that includes the recently renewed "Tosh.0," "Another Period," "Corporate," "South Park" and "Broad City." In addition, the network also has late-night entries such as  "The President Show," "The Opposition With Jordan Klepper," "The Daily Show" and "The Jim Jefferies Show." 

"Drunk History" season 5 airs every Tuesday night at 10 p.m. EST on Comedy Central. The network has yet to announce a premiere date for season 6.
