As their wedding day draws closer, John Luke Robertson and his soon-to-be wife Mary Kate McEacharn received early well-wishes from their families during their engagement party hosted by the "Duck Dynasty" stars, featured in the hit reality show' season 8 premiere. 

In the episode titled "Grooming the Groom," the Robertsons invited the McEacharns and friends to celebrate the couple's upcoming wedding. In the usual "Duck Dynasty" fashion, both John Luke and Mary Kate received hilarious but heartwarming advice from the Robertsons. 

At the beginning of the episode, John Luke's dad Willie invited him to play golf with his uncles Jep and Jase, who both decided to give him several marital advices. Jep started to talk to the 19-year-old groom-to-be about the use of "sensual oils," but he was interrupted by Willie. 

Meanwhile, the bride-to-be was also surrounded by the Robertsons over at Jep's house, where Mary Kate learned several tips from the women, who are experienced in dealing with Robertson men, as well as the family's main man Phil. 

The Robertson patriarch told Mary Kate that he is very happy to welcome her in the family, and even gave her his signature crawfish etoufee recipe, which is loved by the entire family. Phil's tips could come in handy, especially since Jep's wife Jessica reminded Mary Kate that all Robertson wives must know their way inside a kitchen. 

"If you're a Robertson woman and you don't know how to cook, you're going to be ridiculed and teased for the rest of your life," Jessica told the soon-to-be member of the "Duck Dynasty" clan. 

Then the ladies went out to shop for engagement presents, and they were joined by the Robertsons' favorite uncle Si, who never runs out of quirky quotes to deliver. 

"They need something practical, like a phone book, so they can get jobs," Si said when the women were choosing the kind of gifts to buy for the couple.

As for his gift, the ever-funny uncle opted to get them a fire extinguisher. 

But probably the best advice came from Jace's wife Missy, who said that being a wife of a Robertson man could be a never-ending adventure. 

"Being married to a Robertson man is not always romantic, but it is always an adventure," Missy told the soon-to-be Mrs. Robertson. "And the truth is, romance can be nice but it doesn't compare to a truly loving and committed lifelong marriage with the man you love."
