The season finale of Duck Dynasty season 5 will be airing tonight on A&E at 10 p.m. ET.

Season 5 saw the introduction of new family cast member Rebecca Robertson, the family's adopted daughter from Taiwan. Tonight's episode will see the Robertson family organize a family reunion for Mia before she goes for her surgery.

The reality show based around the Robertson family was stirred in controversy after statements made by head patriarch Phil Robertson regarding his beliefs on homosexuality.

His comments, in which he stated that homosexuality was not right, prompted A&E to briefly suspend him from the show. However that decision was met with much backlash, and Phil Robertson was quickly reinstated back on the show.

Robertson had told GQ magazine in December: "Don't be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers -- they won't inherit the kingdom of God. Don't deceive yourself. It's not right."

Phil Robertson's son Willie and his wife Korie spoke with CNN regarding the past controversy, and re-emphasized their faith and beliefs.

"I believe what the Bible says," said Willie."You have to read the Bible and make up your own mind. You have to decide, and God will ultimately decide then. We don't profess to be God, and we certainly don't profess to be perfect. Because we have our own sins that we deal with."

Korie added, "Anybody who knows (Phil) ... any gay, straight, black, white, anybody who knows Phil knows that he is about love and his message is about God's love, God's grace and his forgiveness, ultimately."

Willie Robertson also said the hit reality show is being used as a way to send out God's message. "We were able to use that platform to get out God's message, and if it ended right there, it ended right there. I felt like that was pretty much what God prepared us to do."

Although season 5 is coming to an end tonight, the Robertson family is currently halfway through filming season 6.

Those who miss finale episode tonight will be available to view the episodes online via live stream on A&E's website tomorrow.
