'Duck Dynasty' star Jase Robertson on gun control: 'The more people that are armed with good intentions, the better off you are'
The Robertson men of the "Duck Dynasty" show love their guns, and they use them when they go hunting. However, following a series of terror attacks in America, a lot of people are once again demanding for tighter gun controls.
Jase Robertson understands where these people's concerns are coming from. "I don't blame them for responding the way they do because look, everybody believes this is horrible," he told The Blaze. "[T]his is horrific. You respond emotionally because its unbelievable. How does this happen? What can you do?"
Robertson admitted that he does not exactly agree with the protesters about gun ownership and control, since he thinks that people must be ready to defend themselves in case they find themselves facing armed terrorists or those who wish them harm.
"In my opinion I think, the more people that are armed with good intentions, the better off you are," he said. "It just seems it's giving power to people with evil intentions if they can go to a gun-free area and they are the only ones with a gun."
Robertson hopes that people will not lambast him for sharing his thoughts regarding gun control, since he does not criticise anyone who has a different opinion.
"I don't hold it against people who are trying these things than I disagree with," he said. "Because we are all trying to stop violence. We want people to love each-other and value human life."
A lot of people appreciated Robertson's open-minded view regarding the matter. "Nothing surprising about what he said. That's how rational people respond to senseless tragedy," someone commented.
Another added, "His comments are heartfelt and logical. A mass killing of innocent people just living their life, not looking for trouble is a tragedy from every perspective. Firearms in the hands of good people will deter and prevent these mass killings."
