Players of "Duelyst" are about to be dealt a good hand, as the digital collectible card game (CCG) will soon be getting its "Immortal Vanguard" expansion.

Developer and publisher Counterplay Games Inc. will also be introducing more than 100 new cards, as well as six new generals. The said six generals are named Brome Warcrest, Shidai Stormblossom, Ciphyron Ascendant, Maehv Skinsolder, Ragnora the Relentless, and Ilena Cryobite, each with their own respective Bloodbound Spells.

The generals will also be new additions to the game since they are the first to be introduced since the game launched. This could mean that the developers are planning to add more in the near future, one for each of the six factions, Abyssian, Lyonar, Magmar, Songhai, Vanar, and Vetruvian.

The developers, however, were not specific regarding the 100 or so new cards to be added. A new gameplay mechanic is also reportedly being introduced, but so far, there are no details about it as well.

"Duelyst" is a free-to-play game that was first released in August last year and has since enjoyed a reputable status as one of "Hearthstone's" competition, seeing as the two are both digital CCGs. The difference between the two is that "Duelyst" gives more emphasis on unit tactics and management compared to luck and card play, employing a tournament "arena" instead of a digital tabletop where players must keep strategic positioning and decision making in mind to win.

The turn-based matches can also last as short as five minutes, making the game popular for a lot of people who have little time for games. "Duelyst" also has relatively low system requirements using a combination of 16-bit sprites and 3D art as one of its signature features.

At the moment, the game is highly-rated on Steam, bearing an 83 percent overall positive review score based on 3,609 reviews.

"Duelyst: Immortal Vanguard" is free-to-play and is set to be released on Nov. 14 for the PC.
