Duggar family news: Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell are expecting their first child
Since several of their kids have gotten married over the past few years, "19 Kids and Counting" stars Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are welcoming grandbaby after grandbaby.
This time, they are happily anticipating their son Joseph's first baby with his wife, Kendra Caldwell. Joe and Kendra made a video announcement on the family's website. In it, they each carried a mug that read "Mom" for Kendra and "Dad" for Joe. Both of their mugs had "Est. 2018" written on it.
"I've always dreamed of having my own family and it's really just kind of surreal that it's actually here," said Joe, 22. "I kind of think it's going to be a boy, but either way, I'm happy just to have a baby."
"I think it could be a girl," added Kendra, 19. "You never know!"
Joe added that he would love for the baby to inherit Kendra's playful laugh, while Kendra prays the baby would grow up to be "patient like Joe."
Joe and Kendra started courting earlier this March. On May, during the wedding of Joe's sister Joy-Anna to Austin Forsyth, he finally asked Kendra to marry him. They tied the knot on September 8 at the First Baptist Church in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and the wedding ceremony was even officiated by Kendra's father, who is a pastor.
"It is an amazing feeling to be husband and wife," Joseph told PEOPLE about their wedding. "It's something that I've always dreamed of to have a wife and to raise a family in a way that honors the Lord. We are to very excited to see what God has in the future for us."
Joe's older brother Josh already has five kids, while his elder sisters Jill and Jessa each have two sons. Joy-Anna is currently pregnant with her first child as well.
