"The Devil Wears Prada" actress Emily Blunt is set to star alongside Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the upcoming Disney film "Jungle Cruise."

According to Variety, Blunt will be joining Johnson for the upcoming action adventure film based on the "Jungle Cruise" ride at Disneyland California. Johnson confirmed the news on Feb. 1 when he posted a video of himself on Instagram welcoming Blunt. The video is captioned, "Welcome the talented, beautiful and bad ass Emily Blunt to JUNGLE CRUISE." He then tagged President Barack Obama saying that the former President affirmed the "critical deal points" of Blunt's contract, one of which he expounded in the video — she is obligated to laugh at all his cheesy jokes.

Johnson further revealed in the video he posted that Blunt was his first choice to star opposite him. Apparently, he had already imagined Blunt as the perfect actress to work with for the upcoming film when he read the script for the first time. He said, "Emily knows it. Disney knows it."

"Jungle Cruise" is a film seen by Disney as a major franchise following the success of "Pirates of the Caribbean" series. The details about the plot of the film are kept under wraps at the moment. However, one can surmise the film, since it is based on the Disneyland ride bearing the same name, will include aquatic adventures through the major rivers of Asia, Africa and South America.

"The Shallows" Catalan director Jaume Collet-Serra will be directing the film. He was also chosen to direct "Suicide Squad 2" but he chose "Jungle Cruise." The current script for the film is written by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. The list of producers includes John Davis and John Fox who will produce via Davis Entertainment and Beau Flynn via Flynn Picture Co. Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia, meanwhile, will produce through Seven Bucks Productions. Scott Sheldon also will co-produce.

According to Variety, production for "Jungle Cruise" will begin in May.
