A lot of things are happening with Electronic Arts (EA) and their games. The recent delay in the release of BioWare's "Anthem" was apparently only a matter of scheduling for EA to give way to their new "Battlefield" game. With the rise of Battle Royale genres of first-person shooter (FPS) games, this new "Battlefield" game may even have its own kind of Battle Royale.

The speculations for this can be traced to when the CEO of EA, Andrew Wilson, made mention of the game that undeniably jumpstarted battle royale, "PUBG." "What the team with 'PUBG' have done is really delivers a new level of innovation that changed the way people were playing first-person shooter games," said Wilson in a earnings report just recently, as per GameSpot.

He continued, "And we're very respectful and complimentary of what they've been able to do. We've seen that continue with Fortnite. It's clearly a mode of play that global FPS population is interested in." He mentioned these also after talking about how fans can expect the company to make "new and innovative ways to play."

Putting the pieces together, including how the new "Battlefield" game is coming, it may be possible that "Battlefield" will be having its own version of a battle royale. The EA CEO does mention that he is aware of the many "PUBG" replicas on different devices, but he assures everyone that they would not be one of those.

Not much is known yet about how exactly their battle royale mode will differ from others currently on the market, just like little is known about the new "Battlefield" game. One thing is for sure, however, and that is EA will be definitely be introducing a new kind of mode or gameplay that they have not actually done before.

There is no exact release date yet, but EA has confirmed that the new "Battlefield" game will be coming out in October.
