Easter Sunday will be on April 5 but New York City has several days of events planned for pure celebration, such as the following: 

Full Bunny Contact will be held from April 1 to 5 at the Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural Center. It is a bizarre take on the traditional Easter egg hunt because as the kids hunt for eggs, three men in Easter Bunny costumes will attempt to steal the eggs from the baskets. 

Easter Parade and Bonnet Festival will be held on April 5. Ever immortalized by Judy Garland in the film "Easter Parade," the march begins from 10 a.m. to roughly 4 p.m., hitting Fifth Avenue from 49th to 57th Streets. And people don't have to just stand by and take pictures – they can wear the craziest bonnet they can find and join in. 

The parade is also the most significant Easter event in New York City, with thousands of participants joining in. People can also get a clear view of the parade from the St. Patrick's Cathedral. 

The Amazing Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt will be held on April 4 at multiple venues across the city. The egg hunt involves a whole team (adult only and family-oriented categories) searching for eggs within the entire city of New York. It's the biggest egg hunt in the state. 

Winners of the Amazing Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt will be given tickets to numerous shows and events such as "Shake, Rattle, and Roll" and "Quiet Clubbing." 

Barnyard Easter Egg Hunt takes place on April 4 at the Floral Park of the Queens County Farm Museum, the oldest farmed site in the state. Children will be able to go on egg hunts, take photographs with costumed mascots, and even go on a hayride tour. 

The Barnyard Easter Egg Hunt is notable for being the city's most traditional Easter event now that the Easter Egg Hunt at Central Park has not been conducted for several years. The latter will again not be held in 2015 as it was not held in 2014 and 2012.
