Bethesda Softworks LLC may have recently announced the release of "Fallout 4," which will be in November, but fans of the developer's other game, "Elder Scrolls," are wondering when the next game will be.

In the recent Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) conference, "Elder Scrolls 6" didn't make an appearance. Does that already mean that the developers are still working on the game, or could it be that other projects were given priority?

Bethesda's Pete Hines did make it clear that they are not currently working on an "Elder Scrolls 6" because the developers believe that the game should have great quality instead of having an early release date.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Hines pointed out that they want to make sure they make games that are "noteworthy."

"We do smaller stuff, we don't publish to scale, we try to publish to quality. Make sure everything we do is noteworthy," he said.

In an attempt to calm down fans screaming for the next "Elder Scrolls" game, Bethesda released "Elder Scrolls Online" last year instead, and the game plot is somewhat connected with the previous games in the "Elder Scrolls" series.

So it may seem only appropriate not to have a sixth "Elder Scrolls" game because of the recently released "Elder Scrolls Online."

Apart from Hines' statement, there are no hints or spoilers that the much-anticipated sixth installment will arrive this year, as reported in Crossmap. The news outlet even added that the earliest release date would be by 2017.

However, a recent survey done by Ubisoft suggested otherwise, implying that Bethesda is actually working on "Elder Scrolls 6."

The survey also revealed that the sixth installment will be based on Skyrim, instead of the previously thought Morrowind.

Although it would be nice to have a new "Elder Scrolls" game, most players would still prefer that it would be released later with zero problems, than to experience an early game with several issues.
