A lot of "Elder Scrolls" series fans were disappointed to hear that the next installment in this series won't be coming this year -- or the next. However, while its release date is still unconfirmed, its development is already in progress, to everyone's relief.

According to IGN, the reason why the next "Elder Scrolls" game is going to be delayed is because of Bethesda's two current projects being worked alongside this franchise.

Todd Howard, executive producer and director for Bethesda said in the interview: "[We] actually have two other large projects we're also doing that are bigger than anything we've done. People will probably hear about those probably even before Elder Scrolls VI. And that'll make sense many years from now."

After all, Bethesda has been known to deliver quality games, and the price for that is the amount of time it takes to make a professional and streamlined game that would cater to a vast audience. For Bethesda, rushing their games' releases is a big no-no, since it will certainly tarnish their reputation.

Furthermore, Howard explained that Bethesda is always thinking about the long-term effects of their decisions, so the company will stick to a slow and steady development pace, especially for the "Elder Scrolls VI," due to its projected massive size. With two other projects to be completed soon, they still can't allocate more time and technology in developing the next iteration for this series.

With this, fans can only wait until an official announcement has been made. As for now, fans will have to make do with the "Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" remastered version to be released for the next-gen consoles. After all, according to iDigitalTimes, Bethesda has already confirmed it via their E3 2016 press conference, and has promised that the game will be backward compatible with the Xbox One.
