'Elder Scrolls 6' release date rumors: Game to be out November?

Will "Elder Scrolls 6" materialize this year?Bethesda/Elder Scrolls

New reports are suggesting that developer Bethesda will announce "Elder Scrolls 6" at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in June. It won't then be a long wait before players can purchase the game.

Rumor has it that Bethesda has been getting ready for the event for months now, which had media outlets believing that the game studio is cooking up something big and important. Knowing this, many minds quickly drift to an all-new "Elder Scrolls" iteration.

Bethesda knows that gamers are waiting for "Elder Scrolls 6" but it never really talked about its plans about the franchise or the game. It did, however, suggest that their announcement and release patterns will reflect the one they used in "Fallout 4."

Fans will remember that the latest "Fallout" game was announced at last year's E3 and was released by November. The formula proved successful because the game became a hit.

Apart from the surprise element, Bethesda took advantage of the fact that "Fallout 4" is the game everyone had been wanting to see at the time. Bethesda has suggested that they plan to reuse the method with future titles, possibly even with "Elder Scrolls 6."

Bethesda director Todd Howard hinted during an interview with Gamespot that the timeframe between the reveal of a game and its actual availability "could be a lot shorter." He warned that it differs per project, but the likely gap is six months.

If the reports about "Elder Scrolls 6" being made official in June are accurate, the game will likely hit the shelves before the end of this year. For this to work, the game studio should be working on the game right now.

Bethesda is indeed working on three new titles that Howard described as "big and crazy" and ones that are "different than things we've done before" but still "Bethesda-style."

There's no telling if Howard is talking about entirely new games or just unique versions of the franchises they have now. It is also a mystery if one of those three titles is "Elder Scrolls 6."
