'Elder Scrolls 6' release date update: Next installment might not come out soon

One of the things that avid Bethesda fans were arguing over was which sequel would be released first – the next adventure to "Skyrim" or the continuation of the "Fallout" series. With the confirmation that "Fallout 4" will be released this coming November, the argument is already settled. However, the resolution gave rise to another question, mostly asked by "The Elder Scrolls" fans: when will the sixth installment be seen?

Speculations suggest that since Bethesda has focused mainly on the upcoming post-apocalytic "Fallout" installment, fans of the fantasy world of "The Elder Scrolls" would have to wait at least two years before seeing "The Elder Scrolls 6." Indirectly, Pete Hines, vice president of PR and marketing strategy at Bethesda, said in an interview with UK's Telegraph that they publish and develop games strictly depending on quality and not just for the sake of churning out installments on a regular basis as other companies do.

Hines stressed, "It's rare to have franchises like the ones we have and to have people joking about 'when is 'Skyrim 2' coming out?' The reason they say that is because generally speaking that's what you'd be getting with another publisher in charge. They'd be spitting out a 'Skyrim 2' the year after or two years later. That's just not how we view it. We're not the sort of publisher that focuses on 'what's our 25 titles for 2015'."

Judging by what Hines had said, Bethesda will be taking its time developing the next "The Elder Scrolls."

Since there will be no confirmed details about the upcoming title anytime soon, fans are content with just guessing where the upcoming sequel will take them. Hardcore players of the franchise surmise that the next title might give them a glimpse of the previously unexplored Black Marsh, and may even involve the reptilian Argonians as central to the story.
